In this blog post we will be sharing our views on whether Eufy RoboVac G10 Hybrid Vacuum Cleaner is the solution to the various questions you may have with regards to keeping your home clean and tidy as efficiently and less time consuming as possible by taking a technology plunge that is.
The RoboVac G10 Hybrid is the 2nd generation of the smart vacuum cleaner from Eufy. They aren’t you’re run of mill entry-level smart vacuum cleaners that “bounce” from one place to the other.
They use a feature known as “Smart Dynamic Navigation” which uses its advanced gyro-navigation technology allowing up to 2x the efficiency while cleaning when compared to a bounce vacuum.
But I am getting ahead of myself. Let’s break it down into bits that are easy to understand, shall we?

Firstly, What is a RoboVac?
Well, they are small circular smart robots that essentially move around your home/apartment sucking up dirt and debris that is found on your floors/ carpets. Some of them even lightly mop your floors while they are doing their rounds.
I don’t know about you but sounds very cool and to be honest I was sceptical at first when my wife suggested the idea of getting one for our two-bedroom apartment.
But after using our RoboVac G10 for over a month now, I am happy to report that there is more than what meets the eye.
Reason why we purchased the Eufy RoboVac G10 Hybrid Vacuum Cleaner
For starters the entire RoboVac line from Eufy is readily available in our local electronic store (like you would find in a Walmarts or Best buys) so the peace of mind in terms of any repairs or warranty matters would be taken care of locally and I would not have to deal with any international shipping which would be the case if I went for brands like the iRobot Rumba.
Also, more importantly Eufy is from the parent company of the very popular electronic peripheral maker “Anker” or to be more specific it is part of the Anker Innovations Technology group. Since I have quite a few Anker products in my household that I use regularly it made me quite comfortable with the idea to try the RoboVac from Eufy.
So, after a bit of digging and background research on Eufy and its offerings, here’s what I found out.
Eufy offers 3 well known types of RoboVac
Series Name | Navigation System | Starting Price (USD) |
---|---|---|
X Series | Laser Navigation | $599 |
G Series | Smart Navigation | $299 |
Bounce Series | Bounce Navigation | $199 |
Since this wasn’t going to be a cheap investment for a first-time user like myself, I was naturally leaning towards the G series & the Bounce Series.
Both seemed like viable options but the price difference between the two entry-level models of each series would only be around $100. Therefore, I would rather invest the $100 towards more features and tech that I would use and work in the long run.
After taking the “Help Me Decide” option on the site and reviewing the feature sets between the RoboVac 11s & RoboVac G10 Hybrid it was quite evident I would take RoboVac G10 Hybrid.
Features of Eufy RoboVac G10 Hybrid Vacuum Cleaner
Features | Description |

Smart Dynamic Navigation | Advanced gyro-navigation technology allows for up to 2x the efficiency while cleaning. This means a clean which would take 100 minutes with bounce can be completed in 50 minutes with gyro. |
Hybrid 2-in-1 Vacuum & Mop | Combine sweeping and mopping for a deeper clean. (This works best on hard floors only). |
Convenient Control | Give instructions by voice or using your phone via the EufyHome app, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. |
Slim | Super-slim 2.85” body effortlessly glides under furniture and into hard-to-reach areas. |
Quite & Powerful | With 2000Pa of suction power and an advanced brushless motor significantly reduces vacuuming noise. |
Drop Sense | RoboVac uses drop-sensing technology to avoid falling downstairs and off ledges. |
Pet-Proof Surface | Anti-scratch tempered glass-top cover for protection against curious pets. |
Now those are some bold claims that I am looking forward to testing out in our apartment.
Plus, we recently had a new addition to our family, our 9-month-old pet cat “Bella” who is a mix of Persian and Turkish Angora. So, they happen to shed quite a bit and I wanted to know how the RoboVac would perform picking up those stray pet hair. And to be honest she is the main reason why we thought of purchasing the RoboVac in the first place.

Now arriving on to the big question after a month of use.
How did the RoboVac G10 Hybrid perform & what was it like to use?
It is quite frankly a decent experience. In the box you get the following:
- Main cleaning unit
- Charging base
- Adapter
- Mop attachment
- Extra set of cleaning brushes and dust filter
- Regular paperwork (Quick start guide and Owner’s manual)
The Eufy Home App is available on Android and iOS. While the app is quite basic and plain and has no extra frills of any kind. It does have its share of bugs as well like it doesnt show that the device is connected which means you need to restart the app.
The initial set-up of the RoboVac is simple and the instructions in the quick start guide are clean and easy to understand.
⚠️ During the first time set up, you are asked to connect the RoboVac to your Wi-Fi router and for some strange reason it needs to be close to the router. When I say “close”, I really mean close like a few inches away from it. Don’t know why but it only got paired quickly when it was that close to the router.
Now when placing the dock/charging station keep in mind it needs to have the support of a back wall and more importantly make sure you have an electronic outlet nearby as well as the power cord of the base station is quite short.
The guide says the charging station should have no obstacles near it (up to 1 meter) on either of its sides. Now, this may not be possible depending on your room layout or where you decide to keep it. But I am happy to report that it works fine even if you don’t have that much space.
The actual operation of the device is smooth, and it moves in a continuous “S motion” and is very good at detecting objects in front of it. On the off chance, that an object is outside the range of its front sensors. The device has bumpers on the side to tell the RoboVac that it just hit an object and it needs to re adjust its direction and continue moving.
The RoboVac is not that loud and noisy when compared to a traditional vacuum cleaner and on its default suction setting and the max suction setting the load is a little bit more but nothing too unbearable.
The device has a good low profile, and it stands tall at only 2.85 inches and can comfortably go under most furniture. Which is a big plus especially for those hard-to-reach places around the house.
The advertised battery life is around 100 minutes on the default suction setting, and it doesn’t stray far from this mark. But since this model doesn’t have floor or house mapping the RoboVac can sometimes get into a bad loop or run in a particular area and keep going over that particular area thereby consuming the battery life.
From all the runs we have done in our home this has only happened a few times so it’s by no means a deal-breaker.
Speaking of going in circles, the RoboVac has this function called “Spot Cleaning” that focusses on one area multiple times in case that spot needs more cleaning. This drove our cat crazy the time we tried it out, the poor thing didn’t know what was happening. While we are on the topic of pets, let’s just say the RoboVac does a fab job in picking up the stray cat hair from the floor (hard titles) that we have in our home.
Some RoboVacs do a good job of picking up dirt from carpets as well, but this model isn’t recommended for medium to thick pile carpets as advertised it is only meant for hard floors.
I did try it out on some short weave carpets that we have in the house, it didn’t have a problem moving on it, but I wasn’t entirely convinced about how much it was cleaning it.
The RoboVac G10 Hybrid does come with a mop attachment, but we should manage our expectations. It does what it says but keep in mind that you can only put distilled water in its reservoir which is very small so do not expect to mop all your rooms in one run. Unless you have small rooms, and you need to do multiple runs with mop attachment if you’re looking for extremely shiny floors.
Cleaning Eufy RoboVac G10 Hybrid Vacuum Cleaner
Cleaning the RoboVac is very easy and simple. The dust collection bin slides out when you hold the blue button-down and opening the compartment itself to get to the dust filter is equally simple. Now, this part is the most eye-opening to see the amount of dirt and dust this little machine can collect and how we think our houses are clean but this little guy crashes that illusion in minutes.
Now a dust collection capacity of 0.6L (liters) is extremely tiny you might think but, it is quite shocking to see the amount of dirt this little machine can accumulate.
A good habit would be to clean the dust out after you have done using the RoboVac for the day and cleaning the filters is extremely easy. Just remove the dirt and dust over the bin with your hands and then run the filter itself under running water in the sink for a minute and then leave the filter to dry out completely.
Note: It is extremely important that you let the filter dry out completely before you use it next and that is why the extra filter they provided comes in handy in case the first filter is not yet dry.
Would I recommend Eufy RoboVac G10 Hybrid?
Yes, I would.
But is it for you?
Well, that’s something only you can answer, based on your current cleaning needs and what you are looking for. Honestly, if you have a good routine down and are happy with your current cleaning setup then you don’t need a RoboVac. But if you are looking for something that is a “relatively inexpensive” solution for your cleaning needs then the RoboVac G10 Hybrid is a great starting point.
